Government Medical Facilities

The Government owned Queen Elizabeth Hospital, 8 Polyclinics and four clinics across the island offer free medical assistance to children up to the age of 16 and they can also receive their medication free of charge from the government dispensaries.

 

Acute, Secondary, Tertiary and Emergency Care  is administered at the island’s major hospital, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, located just outside of Bridgetown.

 

Most polyclinics operate on an appointment system but emergencies and walk-ins are also seen.  They offer several health services including, dental, child health, anti-natal, post-natal, podiatry, diabetic, dermatology, hearing and sight, nutrition and several other services.

 

Before going to a clinic, check the schedule for that clinic and make an appointment.

Mental Health care is administered at the lone Psychiatric Hospital, located in Black Rock and there is also a psychiatric ward at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
